El Submarino

Good friend and former bandmate, Pete, came to me about making some artwork to go with a collection of new songs he wrote and produced. I love working on passion projects with people! There’s less pressure of a looming deadline and typically there’s more room to explore creative directions. Pete did have a concept for the cover art which helps during the exploration phase of brainstorming. The final version combines Pete’s concept mixing with abstract doodling landscapes that I had been exploring for a while. The original artwork was done with ink and colored pencil on mixed media paper. I then scanned the artwork and created a few color variations in Photoshop for Pete to choose from. While we were communicating back and forth, he also mentioned the idea of creating a logo for his music – challenge accepted! I don’t say no to too many requests:) Check out Pete’s music HERE.
